Join us for the launch of Anti-Poverty Week in Western Australia, in conjunction with the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA). 

Anti-Poverty Week is an opportunity to strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and hardship, and to work on breaking down the systems and barriers that create hardship. 

Come along to this free event, in conjunction with the YACWA Un-Fair Ground 2018 conference, as guest speaker the Honourable Simone McGurk MLA, Minister for Child Protection; Women's Interests; Prevention of Family and Domestic VIolence; Community Services, talks to the State Government's purview on ending poverty. 

Louise GIolitto, Chief Executive Officer, Western Australian Council of Social Service (WACOSS) will MC the event, introducing the events taking place across the state and of initiatives that we can all take part in. 

In addition, we will have two young speakers from the community. Young people are ecouraged to attend. 

Please arrive promptly at 8:00am. Coffee, tea, and a light breakfast is included.

The 2018 Anti-Poverty Week facilitation committee is made up of a group of dedicated organisations who want to #endpoverty. They include: YACWA, WACOSS, Mission Australia WA, Communicare, Ngala, AnglicareWA, Ruah, Life Without Barriers, Shelter WA, Financial Counsellors' Association of WA, The Swan Alliance, The Smith Family, and Bankwest Curtin Economic Centre (BCEC).
