FAQs

When?

From 4.00pm - 7.30pm on Saturday 29th September

Where?

The MCG. Meet opposite light tower 2 at 4.00pm.

Are there age restrictions to volunteer?

Yes. You must be 16 years and over to participate, due to insurance and safety requirements.

Please note: this event is not suitable for young children and they will not be permitted around selling points.

What does volunteering for this event involve?

Volunteers work in small teams to sell the Herald Sun Premiers Poster at the conclusion of the AFL Grand Final. Teams will be positioned around the concourse (outside the MCG) and will roll up and sell posters to AFL fans. As the posters are always in demand, you will not need to do any 'selling' - the fans come to you!

Some drinks and snacks may be provided, however volunteers are responsible for their own food/drink and any dietary needs.

What if I register then cannot attend?

We understand plans change, but please let us know if you can no longer attend (use your eventbrite ticket email). This way can try allocating your spot to another volunteer.

Where does the money go?

Posters are $3 each and ALL proceeds go to the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Who is running this event?

The RCH Pied Pipers are authorised by the Good Friday Appeal Office to coordinate the selling of the Mark Knight drawn Premiers Poster. They have done this for over 40 years.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is no public parking at the MCG, so we suggest using train or tram services to the MCG. Please visit PTV.vic.gov.au for public transport information. Parking is not provided for volunteers.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

We do not provide lockers or a secure area for valuables, so you will need to carry all your belongings with you.

What if it rains?

We are there each year, rain, hail or shine. Please dress according to the weather conditions.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

If you have any questions you can -

Call Sunil, on mobile: 0402 456 598, or

Email the Pied Pipers at rch.piedpipers@gmail.com

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

No. Only the person named on the ticket can volunteer. This helps us better look after all our volunteers.

Can I update my registration information?

No. You can advise us of any changes on the day at our registration table.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes. If you lose it, please bring some ID.

Does volunteering give me access to the Grand Final?

Nice try, but no. Volunteers will be positioned outside the ground.
