Beaumont People want to invite you to support JDRF at our Annual Trivia Night!
Throughout the years, Beaumont People have supported many charities through volunteering, donations and fundraising events, and this year, we have chosen a charity especially close to our heart.
Earlier this year, our Managing Director Nina Mapson Bone’s son Callum, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). As a 10-year-old living with T1D, he finds himself dealing with daily injections, multiple daily finger pricks, measuring and recording everything single item of food he eats and much more.
For a young child wanting to fit in with his peers, Callum is having to negotiate a new way of dealing with birthday parties, sleepovers, exercise, or in general doing the things his friends can do without having to plan and think about the safety aspect.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leading global organisation funding Type 1 Diabetes research. Their mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.
Since diagnosis, Nina’s family, along with other families have been running a fine line of constant adjustment and management. JDRF supports people from diagnosis onwards through peer support programmes, information resources, and research. The work that JDRF does has contributed to all the significant advances in treatment of diabetes, and those advances have been great for Callum and others living with T1D and there’s more coming.
We at Beaumont People want to be able to contribute to JDRF’s mission as much as possible so that others in Callum’s position can continue to have access to all the support they need.
So please join us in supporting JDRF at our Annual Trivia Night. There will be auction prizes and raffles with all proceeds made on the night going to help families living with Type 1 Diabetes. Plus, 100% of the sales generated from all tickets sold will go directly to JDRF too.
