Grazing at the Watering Hole - Has Ended
DO Details
On Saturday 29 September the small town of Thallon will host "Grazing at the Wateringhole", a special long-table dining experience aimed at supporting and celebrating local produce and producers, with guests invited to sit at "Australia’s longest grazing table".
The event will be set in the campground with town’s towering grain silos and their spectacular large-scale mural “The Watering Hole” by Queensland artists Drapl & The Zookeeper, as a magnificent backdrop.
While parts of Queensland have recently been taken off the drought declared list, Western Queensland is seeing its sixth year of drought and farmers are doing it tough, with devastating roll on effects for the community.
Grazing at the Watering Hole aims not only to showcase and support local producers, but also offer a truly local and unique event for locals and the broader community to enjoy. Featuring local musicians “When Sonny Getz Blue”, live art demonstration by silo artist Drapl (Travis Vinson), cash bar, slow-cooked meats by Harry Siddens, a 40+ metre "grazing table", local wine tasting from Riversand Wines, raffles and more, Grazing at the Watering Hole offers a relaxed country feel in a spectacular outdoor setting.
All profits to drought relief.
