28th Annual Silent Domestic Violence Memorial March 2018 - Has Ended
DO Details
The Silent Memorial March is held each year to commemorate and honour people who have died in the past 12 months from family and domestic violence related incidents. Each year between 18 and 24 people are murdered in Western Australia by a member of their family. Domestic homicides account for a quarter of all homicides in Western Australia. Most commonly this is women being killed at the hands of their partners. This year is the 28th Silent Memorial March and the Department of Communities (Family and Domestic Violence Unit) is working in partnership with the Women's Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services WA to hold the event.
