Meet Our Speakers
Dr Skye Saunders
Skye is a passionate and committed advocate for the advancement of gender equality, including the protection and promotion of the human rights of women and girls in Australia and internationally. She has a particular interest in gender dynamics in the rural context and pioneered the first research in Australia on sexual harassment in rural workplaces, 'Whispers from the Bush- The Workplace Sexual Harassment of Australian Rural Women' (2015, Federation Press). Skye is an Associate Professor in Law at the Australian National University and over the years has been appointed to roles including Director of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Director of the Juris Doctorate Development Project and Director of ANU Legal Workshop. Skye is the Vice President of the YWCA Canberra. Skye was also awarded the Chancellor’s 2017 Distinguished Young Alumni Award (University of Canberra).
Professor Sudha Rao
Professor Rao is one of the University of Canberra's leading researchers and is pioneering research that aims to eliminate metastatic (recurring) cancer and personalised cancer treatment. As a research scientist in the areas of genetics and cancer biology, Sudha and her team are working to develop a breakthrough treatment to prevent metastatic breast cancer.
Ms Siobhan Rennie
As Director of Group Corporate Communications for the DDB Group in Australia, Siobhan currently leads brand PR and corporate communications as well as strategic communications planning for both Sydney and Melbourne across five businesses. Siobhan's extensive experience in communications and public relations make her a trusted voice in the field. She has managed the reputations of Prime Ministers, Presidents and CEOs, orchestrated communications during natural disasters and at the height of Australia's boat crisis, delivered communications for multiple large-scale rebrands and led the Media Relations team for the 2014 G20 in Australia.
Carla and Emma Papas
Bliss followers, health coaches and yoga instructors on a mission to merrymake over the world. Carla and Emma, otherwise known as the Merrymaker sisters, help over 1.5 million people every year with their book, app, programs and podcasts.
