DO Details
The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, in partnership with CBA, host the annual Women Against Heart Disease Lunch to raise money for our life-saving research but, importantly, to raise awareness that heart disease is frequently ignored or overlooked by women.
Heart disease is the most common cause of death in women, claiming three times as many lives as breast cancer. Most importantly, many women have different heart attack symptoms to men. Many are unaware that instead of chest pains, women often have nausea, indigestion and shoulder aches.
