How can one working day be so long...and so many things go wrong? Only in Canberra!
"Seize the Day" is a mock opera, presented over two 40-minute acts, that tells of a tumultuous day in the life of a group of workers in a public service department. Follow our intrepid workers as they battle through the dilemmas of actually getting to work, and everything that goes wrong throughout the day (and the very long overnighter that follows!!). From fire drills to audits, from system crashes to ministerial interference - it all happens.
And of course, there are the office romances!
The icing on the cake is the announcement that as part of the budget announcement of further decentralisation of the public sector, their department is being moved.... to Crookwell!
Come along – you even get to sing along to the choruses.
This reprise of "Seize the Day" is being run as a fundraiser for MyHome in Canberra.
