This training event will equip you to run the Recovery Course. The Recovery Course is a 15-session course, based on the Twelve Step program designed by Alcoholics Anonymous. It is designed to bring freedom to people who struggle with addiction or any compulsive behaviour that spoils one’s life.
The original Twelve Steps are based on biblical principles; however the contemporary slant is to have a 'Higher Power' or a 'God of your own understanding', whereas The Recovery Course incorporates scripture so that each week the Step principles are supported by verses from the bible. The Recovery Course is multi-addiction and does not focus on one particular addiction area. It is designed to compliment other Twelve Step and addiction recovery programs, rather than be in competition, with an emphasis on encouraging guests to continue in multiple support programs.
The training event focuses on how to run the course and how to help those in your community who are struggling with addiction.
The cost of the training is $30 plus GST and ticket fee. All course materials are provided for free at the training event to make it easy to get the course started.
