Join our September Networking Event focusing on “The true value of inclusion and diversity and how to unlock itOver the last 18 months there has been a massive shift in the way we approach diversity and understand the value of inclusion to harness diversity. In this talk, we will share with you what we know will have a truly positive impact in the way leaders and volunteers engage with a diversity of people.

We know that visible diversity triggers certain dynamics of behaviour that requires people to make fewer assumptions, justify their point of view and deliver greater error detection which ultimately drives better decisions. However this dynamic can only be unlocked by inclusion. We know that inclusion brings value and unlocks diversity so now we need to help people understand the subtleties and value in what inclusion really is. Much broader than equity and fairness, the case for diversity is being underpinned by our capacity to demonstrate inclusion, adaptability and courage.

To successfully engage and lead people from a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives will require cognitive humility and mental agility.

This talk will examine what inclusive behaviour is and how do we action and measure it. Leading inclusively is complex, subtle and challenging project for most individuals and NFP organisations.  Come and join us to learn how to help improve your volunteer program, workshop and improve your funded diversity and inclusion programs.

Presenter: Ms Bianca Havas, Senior Consultant – Diversity and Inclusion, Serendis Leadership Consulting

Bianca's breadth of experience and skills as a Program Director and Facilitator has developed over twenty years working in the corporate and non-profit sectors.

After a decade as an advocacy campaigner leading complex projects for international environmental organisations including WWF, Greenpeace, International Fund for Animal Welfare and the Australian Conservation Foundation, she transitioned into the field of leadership consulting. She has managed, designed and facilitated programs for corporate executives and non-profit audiences.

Bianca has been instrumental in the development and success of Serendis’ cross industry mentoring programs. She has driven the continued professional delivery through her program management and skilled facilitation.
Bianca's passion is to help people reach their full potential in their professional and personal lives using her skills as an executive coach and facilitator. She holds a Bachelor degree in communications and post-graduate qualifications in environmental management. She is a graduate of the Coaching Australia executive coaching program and an accredited facilitator of the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument.

The purpose of Serendis is to facilitate positive change at an organisational level. Through consulting and coaching, we support the development of inclusive, ethical and effective leadership practices.

Over the last 5 years, Serendis have developed a significant expertise on the issue of gender equality and supported organisations through the required change of culture.
We facilitate the most sophisticated cross-industry mentoring programs in Australia. The highly successful Women in Banking & Finance Mentoring Program and Property Council of Australia’s Women in Property Mentoring Program, are two such cross-organisational programs with participants from more than 35 leading organisations in both the Finance and Property industry in Australia. This year we are working with new industries in health and medical research and the drinks industry to deliver further cross-sector mentoring programs. Through our different programs, we have worked with a range of large and medium size organisations.

Materials from the workshop will be emailed to attendees after the event where appropriate.
