More than 20 years ago, Georgia, Nanny Barb's granddaughter, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). She was only six weeks old at the time.
As you might know, even today, there is still no cure for CF.
What is Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that affects mostly the lungs, but also the pancreas, liver, kidneys, and intestine. Long-term issues include difficulty breathing and coughing up mucus as a result of frequent lung infections.
Every year, Nanny Barb works many hours each week to raise money to donate to the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, for the CF research.
This year in March, Nanny Barb is having her first charity lunch at Preserve Kitchen, Glen Iris to raise awareness for CF.
Nanny Barb invites you to join her. Would you like to help?
Come along to support and meet new people.
Thank you so much for your assistance and generosity.
By the way, there is some good news from CF research recently: there are new breakthroughs and new treatments found. We hope soon Georgia will be given a chance to live a happy and healthy life as most of the young people at her age.
Venue: Preserve Kitchen - it is a modern, classy and very popular restaurant in Glen Eris. Chef Jason Aitken has a great passion for food. You will get 3 courses meal with a glass of good wine. There the food is high quality, the dessert to die for. Vegetarian food is available.
