Thorndale Foundation - Has Ended
DO Details
The Thorndale Foundation is planning their inaugural fundraising Gala Night on Friday the 24th August 2018 and we are writing to invite you to support this wonderful event.
Thorndale Foundation provide support to people with disability from the age of 16 to 65 years old, through independent living skills, job training, supported employment, residential support and in-home support. “Our vision is to ensure that all people with disability live in a community where Equality is a way of life.” Thorndale Foundation has a proud history going back to 1958 with the first Thorndale School for children with intellectual disability officially opened on 29th August 1959. In the early 1960s Penrith Council donated land to establish a permanent school. Since that time Thorndale continues to provide quality supports continually looking to improve our service offerings as demand increases.
The money we raise from the Gala will be directed to fund a state of the art sensory facility for people with high to exceptional support needs, this will be the first of its kind in outer Western Sydney. This facility will provide support to not only adults with a disability but also children with a disability and the elderly living in our community.
