Do you hate coal mines, but love house parties?!

Then have we here at Festeroo Inc. got a sick time in store for you!
Y'all know the drill by now: make merry, have a boog, and raise for $$$ for good cause.

This edition of Festeroo, we'll be raising money to pay the legal fees of our mates who put their bodies on the line to block work on Adani's Carmichael coal mine in Central Queensland.
Work on this mine has already begun, which is completely out of order considering there has been no agreement made with or consent given by the Wangan and Jangalingou people who are the rightful owners of the area where the mine is proposed.

"If the Carmichael mine were to proceed it would tear the heart out of the land. The scale of this mine means it would have devastating impacts on our native title, ancestral lands and waters, our totemic plants and animals, and our environmental and cultural heritage. It would pollute and drain billions of litres of groundwater, and obliterate important springs systems. It would potentially wipe out threatened and endangered species. It would literally leave a huge black hole, monumental in proportions, where there were once our homelands. These effects are irreversible. Our land will be “disappeared”." http://wanganjagalingou.com.au/our-fight/

Dinner plate: $15 (home made, vegan, gf, low fodmaps, and freegan options!)
Drinks: $5 (alc/non-alc)
We’re asking no BYO at this event- we’re trying to raise as much cashola for FLAC as possible, cause we think they do a bloody good job.

There will be a quiet/safe space in the house, and a no alcohol dry area, available for anyone to take some time out and relax.

We'd like to highlight that Festeroo is an event founded on the principle of respect, that's both for people and the environment around us.
Racism/sexism/transphobia/homophobia/disrespecting property/general dickheadery are strictly no go. We want to have a fun time with you lovely people in an environment that is safe and enjoyable for all!

Festeroo would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land where we hold our festivities, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded, this land will always be theirs. We pay respects to elders past, present and future.
