Mamasita x Hotel Jesus Mexico Earthquake Fundraiser - Has Ended

Now that the immediate threat in Mexico has ceased, many affected areas must now commence the rebuild.

After extensive research and with the assistance of our good friends at La Tortilleria we have nominated a charity – Echale http://www.echale.com.mx/  

Echale is a charity organisation run by Mexicans that has been set up specifically to assist communities devastated by the recent Earthquake. There primary focus is to build houses out of eco bricks. Each house costs $1575 AUD – we are hoping to raise enough funds to build 10 houses.

To raise these funds Mamasita and Hotel Jesus are holding a charity event of which 100% of profits will be donated

Many suppliers large and small have kindly donated produce and beverages to ensure maximum profit is achieved.

All staff are working gratis on the night alongside chefs from various restaurants who will be creating a dish showcasing what Mexico means to them.

The night is less about authentic Mexican food and more about raising funds in a fun and playful way to support the people of Mexico.

We’ve been fortunate enough to enlist the following chefs and friends who will be plating up a dish of what Mexico means to them:

Alejandro Saravia (Pastuso. Che)

Charlie Carrington (Atlas Dining)

Michael Smith (Mamasita)

Luke Hammond (Hotel Jesus)

And legendary dessert maestro Pierre Roelofs

A slew of auction items from many local businesses have also been gathered, for what promises to be a most entertaining night with renowned auctioneer Marcus Peters from Whiting & Co St Kilda real estate.

The night will consist of 6 courses with complimentary beverages.. Tickets are $125 per person.

 Please note groups of 2 are likely to be sat at the bar or on communal tables.
