What is ‘Ride a Day in My Wheels’
For the past seven years, Studio ARTES has been holding Ride a Day in My Wheels as a fun way to celebrate and raise awareness for International Day of People with Disability. Studio ARTES member Oliver House created Ride a Day in My Wheels as a way to increase public awareness of what it is like to be in a wheelchair. Ride a Day in My Wheels is a challenge day for riders to fulfill a list of physical and mental tasks, to help everyone look at life from a different perspective!
Ride a Day in My Wheels takes place in the Hornsby Shopping Mall in partnership with Westfield Hornsby and Hornsby Shire Council. The 2017 winner will be the individual or the team who raises the most money for STUDIO ARTES! Along with the thrilling course challenge for riders, we encourage members of the public to come along to spectate and join in on the free fun-filled activities including a performance by Studio ARTES members, market stalls and demonstrations of creative art and craft all taking place in the Hornsby Mall! The day brings together the business, local groups, disability service providers and residents in the community to experience the life of a person living with a disability.
