It’s no secret that salty-sweet Hunter River Prawns are reputed to be NSW’s very best and this year, for the first time, the Commercial Fishermen's Co-operative Ltd will harness the high market demand for the local product, for the benefit of the local community.   The season’s first box of Hunter River Prawns will be auctioned, fresh from the trawler, on Wednesday November 1; with proceeds going to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service – the Community’s Own Rescue Helicopter.

Bid on the season’s first box of Hunter River Prawns and you could find yourself feasting for a good cause. Year after year, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service remains on stand-by, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, ready to respond and save lives throughout Northern NSW.   Remarkably, this is a free emergency service and every contribution helps to ensure this invaluable community service stays in the air.
