The Rotary Club of Sydney, Darling Harbour (The Darlings) invite you to join us for a magnificent night of live music, salsa and tapas at The Cuban Place, Tuesday November 28, from 6pm for only $45pp. Experience the vibrant culture of Cuba for a good cause - raising funds to provide TAFE scholarships to WAGEC's (Womens and Girls Emergency Centre) women at risk. Funds raised being used directly for the cause*.BOOK NOW

Expect a night with salsa and bachata entertainment by Antonio and inspired Cuban and South American food. Be enticed to donate via our terrific Rotary raffle, silent auction and many more ways to help grow our scholarship funding.

The Darlings need your help with growing our TAFE scholarship program in partnership with WAGEC   based in Redfern, to help women at risk, as self esteem and a job is what many of us take for granted. These women often don't have the support or money to pay for a TAFE course to help them get paid work and so the cycle spirals downwards.

WAGEC provides emergency shelter for women and children at risk, often through domestic violence and other reasons. By helping women back into work it improves their self esteem, provides opportunities for an income and reduces the burden on government welfare funding.

We need $4,000 for one TAFE scholarship. For every additional $4,000 raised we can provide an additional scholarship for one woman at risk to be able to re-enter the workforce. We see these scholarships being a 'hand up' rather than a 'hand out' as it will encourage resilience in self-esteem and ability to take their rightful place in the community.

*Excl. event hire costs. Proceeds raised on the night will be used for WAGEC TAFE scholarships program and any surplus will be used for The Darlings many local community programs.  Rotary does not retain monies for administration costs. Humanitix will be donating the profits from all booking and payment fees to Women's Community Shelters.
