Loud Shirt Day - Has Ended
DO Details
We are getting loud to help children with hearing loss to listen, learn and speak to their full potential.
Loud Shirt Day supports the work of Taralye – the oral language centre for deaf children, who provide early intervention services for children with hearing loss in Victoria. Without early intervention, these children would struggle to achieve developmental milestones comparable with their hearing peers, and once at school, would continue to struggle behind in terms of academic and social achievement. Most children who graduate from early-intervention programs are able to attend mainstream school and achieve academic and employment rates equivalent to or better than those reported for the general Australian population.
Loud Shirt Day is a brilliant excuse to wear your brightest clothes and raise money so that we can continue to give the gift of sound and speech to children with hearing loss. The official Loud Shirt Day for 2017 is the 20th of October, but you can choose to host your event whenever it suits you or your workplace or school.
