Roy and Carol Langsford established the Sydney-based Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation, with a great team of volunteers, after watching their daughter Trish suffer and lose her life to the dreadful disease multiple sclerosis (MS).
The Foundation's goal is to find a cure or preventive strategy for the debilitating disease MS. What sets the Trish Foundation apart is the Foundations' dedicated team of volunteers and their policy that every dollar raised feeds directly into MS research. The Foundation Directors cover the administrative expenses.
Having raised over $2.7 million, the Trish Foundation is making a significant contribution to MS research in Australia and the world-wide MS research effort. Much of the research supported by the Trish Foundation has achieved such great outcomes that subsequent Government grants have been awarded to the researchers, achieving a ‘multiplying’ effect and thereby increasing the funds available for MS research.
In association with MS Research Australia, the Trish Foundation continues to fund research which focuses on Australia’s strengths and helping Australia’s MS researchers to collaborate within Australia and internationally, and lead the world in many areas of MS research.
The Joint Patrons of the Foundation are Hon Barry O’Farrell, Premier of NSW and Dr Brendan Nelson, Director Australian War Memorial.
MS is a cruel disease which continues to wreak havoc on young people’s lives unless a cure or preventive strategy is found. We have an opportunity to eradicate this disease and save future generations from its debilitating effects. The Trish Foundation would be very grateful for any support you can provide to help us eradicate MS.
