Did you know that 44,000 people under the age of 24 in Australia do not have a safe place to sleep at night? As winter sets in, our friends living on the streets are really doing it tough. Here is your chance to make a difference and get involved in a great night for a great cause. On Saturday 6 August Hangout for the Homeless.
Getting involved in this campaign is easy – all you have to do is give up your bed for one night and sleep rough to raise much needed funds and awareness for homeless youths in Australia.
Follow these easy steps:
- Register for Hangout at www.hangoutforthehomeless.org.au
- Get informed
- Spread the word
- Raise awareness and $
- Sleep rough and be a Hangout Hero!
Sleeping rough may mean sleeping on the couch, on the bedroom floor, in a garage, in a tent, you may even like to invite friends over and make it a slumber party! Just no sleeping in a bed!
This year, all monies raised will be donated to Orange Sky Laundry (Young Australians of the Year 2016).
You can win a visit from the Orange Sky Laundry van by having the most students registered from your school or club!
