Join thousands of Australians at Think.Eat.Save 2016 events across the country - Mon 25 July!
It’s that time of the year again to Think.Eat.Save, as OzHarvest teams up with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN's Food Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Global Initiative on Food Loss and Waste Reduction (SAVE FOOD) to bring attention to the alarming amount of food wasted in Australia and around the world.
GLOBAL FACT: 1.3 billion tonnes of food wasted globally every year
LOCAL FACT: 4 million tonnes wasted in Australia annually
This year, 11 Think.Eat.Save events will take place simultaneously around Australia, feeding more than 15,000 people a FREE delicious and hearty, hot meal made from rescued produce all to educate people about reducing food waste.
Top chefs, politicians, celebrities and Chef ambassadors around the country including Neil Perry, George Calombaris & Maggie Beer will unite on this day, to take a stance against food waste, which is currently costing Australians approximately $8 billion each year.
