May 29 - Humpty Dumpty Balmoral Burn 2016 - Sydney

Join us on RACE DAY on Sunday 29 May at the most unique event of its kind. Created by Wallaby great Phil Kearns, the Balmoral Burn is now in its 16th year. This community event will see families, corporations, children and pets take on the 420m race course up Awaba Street in Mosman.

"Only 420 metres" we hear you say....? Well you can't have seen the infamous Awaba Street - one of the steepest streets in Sydney! Challenge yourself or join in just for fun at this family friendly fun-run, walk or crawl (!) whilst raising vital funds to help kids in hospital across Australia.

Humpty Dumpty Foundation - www.humpty.com.au

Having now raised $55 million and continuing to make a significant impact on the lives of sick and injured children at children’s hospitals and health service centres in every state of Australia, the Humpty Dumpty Foundation was established over 25 years ago by Founder and Executive Chairman, Paul Francis OAM. The Humpty Dumpty Foundation has enjoyed long-time support from its Patron, television journalist Ray Martin AM, Olympian Jane Flemming OAM – Ambassador/Board Member and Wallaby great Phil Kearns, Ambassador and Founder of the Humpty Balmoral Burn. Through annual fund-raising initiatives including the Good Egg lunch, Humpty Dumpty Balmoral Burn and the Great Humpty Ball along with the support of generous individual and corporate donors, the Humpty Dumpty Foundation purchases, on average, over 330 pieces of medical equipment each year. One of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation's breakthrough fundraising methods was the creation of Humpty’s Wish List in 2001.

Each item that appears on the regularly updated Wish List has been requested specifically by the hospital to meet an immediate need. Each piece of medical equipment requested is stringently assessed by the Humpty Dumpty Foundation’s medical sub-committee made up of senior medical administrators and clinical specialists. The Humpty Dumpty Foundation also provides funding for numerous special projects including a part-time Nurse Educator for training in emergency paediatrics, a part-time Bio Mechanical Engineer and weekly visits by the “Clown Doctors” and the magical Fairy Gardens (which encourage and promote healing).

To date, 258 hospitals across the nation have benefited from the life-saving medical equipment received specifically to care for children and babies provided by the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and its amazing “Good Egg” supporters. Locals, community and business organisations interested in supporting the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and their local hospital by donating a piece of medical equipment or by making a donation can view the wish-list at www.humpty.com.au or contact the Humpty Dumpty Foundation on 02 9439 0511.
