Contribute Recipes to the Breast Friends Cookbook by Scarab Blue Design

Breast Friends Fundraising is a tight-knit group of friends raising money for the ultimate goal of a cancer-free future.

Our team is proud to announce we are creating a cookbook to raise money for cancer research, prevention programs and aftercare facilities.

In the past, the Breast Friends team has successfully raised over $35,000 for the Queensland Cancer Council’s and in particular the Girls Night In initiative. This time our goals have increased and we’re aiming much higher.

Our first goal is to raise enough money for our team to attend the ‘Weekend to End All Cancers’ which is a 60km walk over two days. All proceeds will be donated to the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre for much needed research to achieve the ultimate goal of a cancer-free future. This charity event requires an entry fee of $2,000 per person.

While we’re doing the usual fundraising activities such movie nights, sausage sizzles and chocolate drives, our biggest venture is to create a celebratory cookbook. The ‘Breast Friends Cookbook’ is a collection of recipes by cancer survivors and the people who share their journey.

With loads of thoughtful recipes and beautiful photos, this cookbook will offer insights into women’s cancer by way of personal experiences from contributors. We plan to include recipes which could be a meal for a family during treatment and the more difficult times (ie easy to freeze etc) through to something indulgent to celebrate with a glass of bubbles when they receive good news.

The book will be distributed throughout Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with a strong focus in our local communities. Whilst most of the promotion will be done online and through social media, we also have access to retail sectors which will be able to assist.

While our first goal is to attend the ‘Weekend to End All Cancers’, our primary focus is to raise even more funds to distribute amongst several worthwhile charities, such as ‘The Kim Walters Choices’ program, ‘Look Good Feel Better’ and ‘Mummy’s Wish’.

Let me know if there’s any way you can help achieve our goal of a cancer-free future.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.

Cheers
