Over 100 women enjoyed the Variety Old Bags Lunch today at the Surfers Paradise Marriot Resort and Spa on the Gold Coast. The Variety Old Bags Lunch is a phenomenon fast sweeping the state! A ladies lunch with a twist of fashion has been to many regional towns over the last five years and it’s on its way to the Gold Coast for the very first time.
Variety Queensland is dedicated to empowering the lives of children who are sick, disadvantaged and who have special needs to live, laugh and learn. Last year Variety had a positive effect on the lives of over 55,000 children in need. With the assistance of our generous supporters, Variety provided equipment and services to families across Queensland to the value of over $2.8 million.
The lunch combined fun and philanthropy, as the lovely lunchettes brought along their old handbags which were donated to a local charity. Guests then had an opportunity to bid on new bags, and enjoy a huge range of silent and live auctions, and raffle prizes.
