In October you may have seen the pink banners and merchandise around our neighbourhoods, on television and at the shops. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a fantastic initiative that, over many years, has highlighted the power that women and their loved ones can have when they rally together.

At the Australian Cancer Research Foundation however, we refer to October as Women’s Cancer Month. We fund research into all types of cancer, to give hope to all women.

In Australia, 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. They are our mums, our wives and partners, our sisters, friends, aunts and cousins. They inspire us, ground us, and support us endlessly.

Cancer can touch any one of us, at any time.
