Saturday August 4 saw us attending the Mater Foundation’s Red, White and Sparkling Dinner at the Hillstone Golf Course in St. Lucia Brisbane. The goal of the evening’s dinner was to raise funds for the Mater’s medical research projects. During the lovely event we heard from many speakers including world famous yachts person Jessica Watson and the Mater Foundations’ Director Nigel Harris (pictured above) who updated us on the cancer research being conducted by the Mater Medical research staff. Many dollars were donated and the silent auction brought in more much needed funds for this worthy cause. Attendees enjoyed an evening of fine food and wines followed groovy dancing till the early hours. Unfortunately we had to leave for our trip back to the Gold Coast before the “witching hour”.
