National Stroke Week is from 8-14 September. Challenges are taking place across the country in an effort to put the spotlight on stroke and encourage Australians to become more aware of stroke, understand their risk and what they can do to prevent a stroke.
Participants can choose their own challenge to complete during the week or anytime during the month of September. We have some suggestions around being healthy, being aware and being your best. They can also fundraise as part of their challenge.
Stroke is Australia’s second biggest killer after coronary heart disease and a leading cause of disability. Stroke kills more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.
