Melbourne Cup Extravaganza at the Gold Coast Arts Centre for the Leukaemia Foundation

Tuesday November 6 was, of course, the Melbourne Cup Race at Flemington in Melbourne. On the Gold Coast many Queenslanders  duly celebrated the great race at many different Melbourne Cup events. I joined the many people who cheering for a winner at the Mebourne Cup in the Paradise Room at the Gold Coast Arts Centre to support the Leukaemia Foundation. Amanda wore a pretty pink hat with pink floral top, purple silk skirt, pearl jewellery, and white shoes and handbag. After champagne and canapes on arrival, the over 300 attendees enjoyed fish or chicken with a chocolate or meringue dessert. The champagne flowed freely at the luncheon as we prepared for the great race. We were treated to this exciting racing event on big screens and when the race was over we enjoyed many wonderful raffle items and auction prizes. Over $10,000 was raised during this exciting Luncheon for the Leukaemia Foundation which is a great credit to the hard working organisers of this wonderful event for a good cause. I'm looking forward to next year's Melbourne Cup event at the Gold Coast Arts Centre.
