YHES at Friends of Make-a-Wish Luncheon

The latest Friends of Make-A-Wish Luncheon was held on Tuesday October 23 at the Gold Coast Arts Centre. The keynote speaker  was Anne Ellis who is the Manager/Coordinator at the Youth Health and Education Service (YHES) located in Southport on the Gold Coast. YHES is a community organisation funded by the Queensland Government to provide holistic health services to "at risk" youth and young parents living in the Gold Coast Region. They provide a nuturing environment for both young people and young parents with new born babies who are seeking assistance to feel secure. What a worthwhile cause! Unfortunately, YHES's funding has been recently reduced by the Queensland Government, so they need additional funding to provide their valuable services.

This lovely monthly luncheon attracts approximately 70-80 women living in the Gold Coast region who are focused on supporting the Friends of Make-A-Wish. The Friends of Make-A-Wish is also holding the "Awesome Auction4wishes" at Robina Town Centre on Saturday October 27 from 10am to 2pm. Over 400 items will be auctioned over 4 hours. Auctioneer Tony Mansfield will be attempting to set a world record. An exciting event!

After the Auction, the next Friends of Make-A-Wish happending is the Tropical Christmas Luncheon from 11.30am on Tuesday November 23 at the Gold Coast Arts Centre Paradise Room. See you there!
