The Seaduction Restaurant @ Sea Temple Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast was the scumptuious setting for the elegant Gold Coast SIDS and Kids Luncheon on Friday October 11. SIDS and Kids is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and supporting bereaved families through world class research; evidence based education and bereavement support; and advocacy. In Australia each year over 3,500 families experience the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or child, either through stillbirth or during the first month of life, from sudden unexpected death in infancy (SIDS or fatal sleeping accidents), SUDC (sudden unexpected death in childhood) or accident.

Despite the rain and grey skies outside, inside Seaduction we enjoyed a lovely luncheon for a good cause. The stunning view from the restaurant windows also included some passing whales on their way north. Our luncheon host Karen Philips from SIDS and Kids, in a stunning green gown, introduced our guest speaker, the lovely Charlotte Dawson - one of Australia's most talked about celebrities. Charlotte kept us enthralled with tales from her new book "Air Kiss and Tell". Following champagne on arrival, our salmon and rissotto lunch was completed by a chic cheesey-cake dessert with Tyrells wines. This monthly luncheon also attracts a bevy of lovely and elegantly dressed ladies. Finally, yours truly was lucky to win a raffle prize for Marina Mirage shopping!! I'll be back at the next SIDS and Kids luncheon on November to enjoy another exciting event for a very good cause.
