KMART Wishing Tree Appeal

For 26 years, Kmart together with The Salvation Army has been working to help make Christmas brighter for thousands of families in need.

The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal is Australia’s largest Christmas gift appeal. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Australians, the Appeal has collected more 6 million gifts for people in need over the past 26 years.

In 2012, the Appeal successfully collected more than 450,000 gifts nationally, for distribution via our charity partner, The Salvation Army.

The concept for the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal first came about in 1988 when an Adelaide team member suggested Kmart use its network of stores as gift collection points, assisting charity groups at Christmas time.

The 2013 Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal will run from November until Christmas Eve. This year the appeal aims to collect more than 500,000 gifts nationally.

We are proud that the Appeal is now a Christmas tradition - not only for Kmart and our charity partner The Salvation Army, but for thousands of Australians who donate each year.

Share the joy of giving!
