Cerebral palsy is a permanent disability which affects movement. Every 15 hours an Australian child is born with cerebral palsy - that means one in five hundred babies. There is no known cure and for most the cause is not fully understood.
• 1 in 3 children with cerebral palsy are unable to walk
• 1 in 5 children with cerebral palsy are unable to talk
• 1 in 4 children with cerebral palsy has epilepsy
• People with cerebral palsy may also have impairments affecting their vision, hearing or intellect
Our Centre in the ACT provides therapy services, programs, specialised equipment and clinics for children and adults with cerebral palsy and their families living in the ACT and surrounding regions. Funds raised in Canberra stay local to support families within our own community.
