Walk4BrainCancer 2014 Canberra - Has Ended

Australians are walking against the deadly statistics of brain cancer this November and Canberra is getting in on the action.  Come and join us on Sunday, 30 November 2014. Canberra’s Walk4BrainCancer 2014 have partnered up with Stromlo Forest Park for what will be a great event.  Being the ‘Bush Capital’, we thought it would be fitting to add a bush walk leg to the course. 

The Course 

Starting off on the Robert de Castella running track, this 2km caters for all levels. Bring the family, of all ages, as this flat track allows for wheelchairs, prams and strollers.  You can do as many laps of this as you like.  For people wanting to walk the bush leg they can do so by veering off and completing a further 3km on the Mount Stromlo equestrian trail track, before finishing up at the pavilion.  This is a relatively easy bush walk, which takes in gorgeous scenic views of Black Mountain and the Brindabella Ranges.

There will be drink stations and live music offered along the way with local performers and buskers entertaining you.

After you complete the walk, enjoy a community festival feel event, with a BBQ, live music and entertainment for the kids.

Step 1

Register to walk as an individual, join another local Walk4BrainCancer Canberra team or create your own team and ask friends and family to walk with you.  

Step 2

After registering, set up your personal Walk4BrainCancer Canberra fundraising page or if you are walking as part of a team, set up a team fundraising page. 

Step 3

Invite people to sponsor you and watch the total we raise for Walk4BrainCancer nationally.  

The theme is a touch of purple, so let your imagination run wild and dress up or buy one of our Walk4BrainCancer t-shirts.  If you walking as a group, you can even personalise your team t-shirts with a message and photo on the back and show Australia who you are walking for. There are prizes up for grabs for the best dressed team and individual.  There are also prizes for the highest fundraisers.  Lets show the rest of Australia how the Canberra community rally together!
