DO Details

On Saturday 18 October, the Griffith University Aquatic & Fitness Centre in Mt Gravatt will host the first MS Swimathon event of the season to raise vital funds to help people living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

The MS Swimathon is one of Queensland’s fastest-growing charity events and is great for all ages and abilities.

It doesn’t matter if you can do 100 fast laps or doggy paddle one, everyone can join in, have fun and support people living with MS – an incurable disease which affects a person’s central nervous system. Designed as a relay event, teams must have one swimmer in the water at all times throughout the entire 12 hour event period.

The MS Swimathon is a community-based event that encourages everyone to take part and raise money to help people living with MS. Participants can raise donations by asking for a one off donation from friends and family or being sponsored based on the number of laps they can do.

REGISTER TODAY from just $10 and help support those individuals living with MS and their families. See www.MSswimathon.com.au for more information.

DO Supports

Charity- MS Queensland MS is the most common neurological condition affecting young adults in Australia and the average age of diagnosis is just 30. It’s an unpredictable disease where the nerves in the brain and spinal cord are attacked, causing irreparable damage. While there is a number of treatments available to people with MS, there is no cure which is why it’s so important that MS Queensland is there, every step of the way. For more information on MS Queensland’s work please visit www.msqld.org.au.
